Picture Gallery Red from Farrow & Ball used as a bold colour in a modern hand made kitchen design

Guildford Kitchen

BUDGET: £39,500

We created a modern classic for the kitchen of this 1930’s home. As keen entertainers, the latest innovations in cooking and refrigeration were a pre-requisite, and our tailored design provides a contemporary ‘industrial’ feel that is playful and luxurious. The beautiful Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances are pared with a bold palette and exceptional Terrazzo island worktop, which complement the exposed brick walls of the dining area.

THE DETAIL

The symmetrical design is built around the large appliances with pan and utensil drawers on either side of the Wolf range cooker and wall cupboards framing the bespoke Westin hood. An antique mirrored splash-back reflects light into the room and adds a touch of glamour for evening entertaining.

The Sub Zero fridge freezer is cleverly designed as part of the full height wall of cabinetry, with a bespoke louvered grill above for ventilation. To one side is a double pantry cupboard, keeping all of the family’s groceries in one place, and to the other side, a double storage cupboard for crockery, glassware and smaller appliances.

MORE DETAIL

The large center island has a double sink and Quooker boiling water tap and discreetly houses a dishwasher and recycling bin units. The island conveniently doubles as a breakfast bar for casual meals. Hand-painted in Picture Gallery Red from Farrow & Ball, the bold colour adds warmth and perfectly sets off the stunning flecks in the Terrazzo worktop.

The cabinet door style is designed with a deco panel to complement the original 1930s kitchen door and is finished with beautiful bronze handles, which add to the industrial edge of this contemporary classic design. This stunning kitchen space now oozes interest and provides the flexible entertaining space the clients wished for, whether for family-friendly evening meals or party nights with friends.
