Tadley Kitchen

BUDGET: £51,000

This six bedroom farmhouse kitchen has been extended to provide a large family kitchen with central island, a beautiful glazed orangery with feature domed ceiling provides the dining area and an open-plan snug with large stone fireplace. The brief was to bring the whole space together with a classic design which would be sympathetic to the period of the property but contain every modern luxury.

Kitchen Detail

Though the proportions of this farmhouse kitchen are spacious, the existing walls and supporting beam for the extension mean that the actual ‘kitchen’ area is quite snug and needed some clever design detailing to provide the luxurious kitchen the owners requested.

The kitchen has been designed with a mixture of fitted and freestanding furniture which suits the proportions and layout of the room, in a classic three panel design. The cabinetry is hand-painted with brass handles. The supporting beam is cleverly disguised with a smart bi-fold breakfast cabinet which houses the microwave and smaller appliances with an end bookshelf

More Detail

The Wolf range cooker is perfectly framed by a hand-made chimney breast which conceals a bespoke Westin extractor. The splash-back is antique mirror which adds wonderful light reflection. Oversized freestanding cabinetry houses the Sub Zero fridge and useful larder cupboards to either side. Whilst, the large island has integrated wine storage, a breakfast bar area, open display cabinet and a beautiful granite worktop with prep-sink.

To merge the kitchen and snug area, a freestanding full height cupboard provides additional storage for games and books. Stunning limestone floors in muted colours complete the scheme.

“We first heard heard about Lewis Alderson through seeing their advert in Hampshire Life. Initially I was going to get the kitchen made by a joiner but when he was too busy, I visited Lewis Alderson’s Showroom and was really impressed.

Installation went smoothly and I really liked the fitters who were very hardworking. I love the design of my new kitchen, particularly the island and worktop and the colours of the cabinetry, everything blends together really well.

How would I describe Lewis Alderson in one sentence? Very easy to work with and they make the whole process very smooth”
